My name is Debra, I am a Kahuna Massage Therapist practicing at the Chandler location. I was previously employed in the Scottsdale location and I am very excited to be back after spending the summer living/working in Alaska at a beautiful Fishing Club Lodge. I have been a Massage Therapist since 2002. My previous places of work as a Massage Therapist has included ; several years working alongside Chiropractors in offices located in Alaska which part of my work was assisting in healing patients whom were injured in Motor Vehicle Accidents and/ or work related injuries. I provide massage services such as Sports massage, Prenatal massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Lomi Lomi massage, Couples massage, Swedish, Hot Stone or Hot Shell Therapy, I incorporate assisted stretching in most of my sessions, (unless instructed otherwise) and also perform all of the Hawaiian Experience spas signature body scrubs and wraps. I attended the Steiner Transocean Cruise line Training Academy in Northern England in 2011-2012 and worked out of Sydney, Australia and another 1/3 of the world on the Princess Cruise ship “Sea Princess”. Come by the spa…I would love to meet/work with you. I received my initial training to become a Certified Massage Therapist at the Alaska Learning Institute in Anchorage, Alaska in 2001-2002. Previous to my training to become a Massage Therapist; I worked at a hospital located in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula for four years as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and also a Clerical/Certified Nurse’s Assistant. I worked in the Medical/Surgical department, Intensive Care Unit and the Obstetrics departments of the hospital. Part of my work description there included assisting the Physical Therapists with the Post Surgery patients as well as preparing the paper work for medivacs in the Intensive Care Unit and assisting the RNs in the OB and inputting the lab work data into the hospitals computer systems via Doctors orders. I was also working as a receptionist at a local gym in the area and was very active in fitness training. This is when I became interested in becoming a Massage Therapist. I had a great desire towards helping/caring for others and a vast interest in the mind/health/wellness overall. Therefore I have had nearly twenty years working in the health related industry. My mother was a nurse working all over the USA in different hospitals (married to a Coast Guard Lt. Commander who piloted C1-30s and then retired as Captain) so I have lived various States as well.
