Coronavirus Update From Owner: Regular Updates

THIS PAGE IS UPDATED AS NEW INFORMATION DEVELOPS

Message from owner 3/27/20

Hawaiian Experience Spa will be temporarily closed through the 18th of April. The spa continues to believe that massage therapy and spa services are a benefit to the health of the community. However, rather than continuing to operate with limited staffing we are going to close temporarily and reopen with full staffing on April 18th. You will be able to continue booking appointments online for any time on or after April 18th. Mahalo nui loa for your understanding and continued support. We sincerely appreciate it.

We are remaining open with staff who want to come in and work. Mahalo to all of you who have been supporting us. We had a busy weekend. Opinions are changing somewhat as Arizona is not hit nearly as hard as other places. See this article sharing the opinion of the Maricopa County medical director who says businesses should not have been forced to close. No employee or customer of the spa has reported to us that they have COVID-19.  Mahalo nui loa to all our amazing guests and ‘ohana for your support!

Aloha: As with all businesses, we are constantly evaluating our response to the COVID-19 crisis. As of the moment we are writing this, reports show the State of Arizona has 63 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and zero deaths.  No employee or customer of the spa has reported to us that they have COVID-19. No official agency has recommended we close or make any changes in our operation beyond what we already have done.

We are a firm believer in individual choice and strongly believe the spas provide a safe and healthy environment that provides a vital health service to the community. Because of our small size we do not exceed the current recommendations for large gatherings and the spas are meticulously cleaned constantly. Therefore, we will remain open for business and are making every effort to keep as many people employed as possible.

Beginning Sunday, March 22, 2020 we will be drastically reducing our prices to help you help us. Supporting your local small business helps save jobs and makes the community stronger. Please see our Sales and Pricing page for the latest sales.

Mahalo for your support.

Message from owner 3/16/20:

Aloha: Until further notice we will be keeping our guests updated more regularly on our response to this pandemic, what we have been told by the local jurisdictions where we operate and other information which may be helpful to you and your family. So of the information may be a redundant from the last email but we strongly suggest reading through all of it as there may be small changes or you may have missed something in the last email.

Massage therapists are licensed health care professionals and can give limited advice regarding keeping your body healthy overall. We will be sharing all this information with you in a weekly newsletter and daily on our Facebook pages and website blog as appropriate. In the event of a critical update we will email immediately and post on our website and social media as appropriate.

  • First, no employee or customer of the spa has contracted coronavirus to our knowledge as of this email.
  • All our employees receive paid sick leave and have been told to stay home if they feel sick even if the symptoms are not consistent with this virus.
  • We are asking any guest who does not feel well to cancel their appointment at the spa. The spa is waiving all late cancellation fees due to illness for the remainder of March. We will reevaluate after that time. You may have noticed we added this in bold red letters to all our appointment confirmation emails.
  • The spas already have strict cleaning procedures. However, in response to this situation we have increased our cleaning and sanitation protocols to an even higher level. You will likely see more hand sanitizer products out in the spas and see our ‘ohana cleaning more frequently. Because of the limited number of guests in the spa at one time, we can keep it much cleaner than a high-volume type business.

Experts recommend that everyone should, in addition to following specific advice from this pandemic, follow all the basics of staying healthy such as getting enough sleep, reducing stress, eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly and washing your hands properly. Information on all these basics can be found on many reputable websites.

While massage therapy does not cure or prevent any disease is has many proven health benefits including boosting the immune system, reducing stress hormones, reducing pain and inflammation and much more. While there are no studies on different types of massages and their relative effects on immune health there is one massage that has a primary focus of building immunity and reducing toxins, lymphatic drainage massage. We also recommend the use of our Infrared Saunas. Please visit those pages for details.

While some businesses are rightfully closing during this time we strongly believe that our services serve the public health and we will stay open normal hours to serve as many guests as possible. We have not been contacted with any official information, instructions or guidance from any government jurisdiction, the Arizona Massage Board or the Arizona Cosmetology Board or any other agency.

We will update our guests regularly as this matter develops. Again, we have no reason to even suspect that anyone who has visited the spa had coronavirus and we feel that our extra measures will reduce even further the likelihood of COVID 19 infections among our ‘ohana or guests.

If you have any concerns please email owners@HawaiianExperienceSpa.com or call any spa and speak with a manager.

Mahalo for your support of the spas!

Aloha: As new developments regarding the COVID 19 epidemic rapidly emerge we want to inform you about the steps Hawaiian Experience Spa is taking to help protect, assist and inform our guests and ‘ohana.

  • First, no employee or customer of the spa has contracted coronavirus to our knowledge.
  • All our employees receive paid sick leave and have been told to stay home if they feel sick.
  • We are asking any guest who does not feel well to cancel their appointment at the spa. The spa is waiving all late cancellation fees due to illness for the remainder of March. We will reevaluate after that time.

While massage therapy does not cure or prevent any disease is has many proven health benefits including boosting the immune system, reducing stress hormones, reducing pain and inflammation and much more. Infrared saunas have many health benefits as well including boosting the immune system.

We do not believe there is any reason to reduce the number of services you receive at the spa during this time if you are otherwise healthy, as all the benefits of the/ therapy we provide remain the same during this epidemic.

/We also want to assure you that we will update our guests regularly as this matter develops.
