My Spa Tip: Coming Soon!
About Me: Aloha! My name is Anna. I am a Filipina, born in the Philippines and raised on the island of O’ahu. I am a mother to a wonderful little girl (who is growing up way too fast!) and we have been living in Arizona for 5 years. My daughter and I love trying different types of foods and restaurants. We love to eat. In our culture, food is a big thing. When you enter a Filipino household, most likely they will ask you “Kumain ka na ba?” or “Nangan kan?” which translates to, “Have you eaten?” They will feed you, regardless of you saying yes or no. So, if you have any food/restaurant recommendations, especially Hawaiian food/restaurants, I’m all ears. I have worked in all types of jobs. From Child Development Centers at Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu to Correctional Facilities in Florence, here in Arizona. When the Pandemic hit, the phrase “life is too short” resonated with me. It motivated me to finally answer my calling to help people. I didn’t want to go into nursing. Blood and needles are not my thing. A friend of mine was raving about his great experience at a massage session he had just been to. It reminded me of my culture’s way of massage and its role in our family life. Massage or “hilot” in my native language, has always been a part of my life – ever since my hanabata (childhood) days.
What Massage Means To Me: The ability to personally help others improve their well-being mentally and physically and the opportunity to share another culture’s way of healing.
