Aloha! My name is Ashley. I am a kahuna licensed massage therapist, and Lomi Lomi trainer here at the spa. I have been a part of the Scottsdale ohana since August of 2016.
I attended school at the East Valley Institution of Technology, and graduated in 2014. I went to school to practice massage during my senior year of high school, as a part of my elective credit. My mother was my inspiration throughout my massage schooling; being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease with no cure, I felt my mom could use peace of mind, body and spirit. Coming upon the Hawaiian Experience Spa, and the unique Hawaiian style massage, I felt this place would become my home away from home.
I have been to the Sacred Lomi Lomi training workshop three different times now, so you can say that Lomi Lomi massage is what I practice and love doing the most. Lomi helps me stay grounded with spirit, it helps me relax my mind, and makes my body feel whole and free. When I perform a Lomi Lomi, its my goal to help my clients reach that level of relaxation before the end of the session. I was ecstatic when Becca asked if I would like to become a trainer for our spa. Sharing this different style of massage with our new therapists that we hire on, is truly a blessing. I strive for growth, and soon hope to become a lead therapist at our Scottsdale location, and later maybe move up to becoming a Spa Ali’i Nui!
Aside from the spa, outside of work I stay busy on Pinterest searching for vegetarian/vegan recipes, and healthy ways to live a happy and successful life. I am still young, and I want to explore so much. I love going on hikes, taking road trips to lake-sides and having a picnic, camping with my boyfriend, anything that gets me out of the city! Some of my favorite shows to watch are: Greys Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, Bones, Castle, or anything CSI related.
