Aloha, my name is Ashley I and have been a licensed massage therapist for a few years now. I became a massage therapist because I was inspired by an illness my mother was diagnosed with. Doctors told my mom massage therapy would benefit her a lot so I decided to pursue my schooling for massage therapy and fell in love with it. I graduated from EVIT in May of 2014, and bought a table to begin my practice in massage therapy and to be able to work on my mom from home. I loved being in the health care field so much I thought I would like to go back to EVIT and try out the emergency medical technician course. I learned a lot taking that class. I learned enough to know that career wasn’t for me. I then got my first massage therapy job with a chiropractor and worked with injuries and athletes. I really thought I would enjoy working in a more personal, relaxing, and calming massage environment so I continued looking for another job as a therapist. That’s when I found Hawaiian Experience Spa! I enjoy the multitude of different massage modalities the spa offers and that I can learn and add to my knowledge as a therapist. Lomi lomi is by far the massage I enjoy giving the most. The skills I specialize in include deep tissue, Swedish, reflexology, geriatric, trigger point, chair massage, prenatal, aromatherapy, and hot stone. Aside from working at the spa, I’m also a barista at a Starbucks located inside of Target. I enjoy making all the different drinks, and want to soon become a bartender. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity the spa has given me and I can’t wait to expand my skills as a therapist here at the Hawaiian Experience Spa.
