My Healthy Tip: When stretching, our body’s stretch reflex engages to resist the action to protect us from injury. The only way to bypass this mechanism is to make sure we hold the stretched position for at least 30 seconds, otherwise the stretch may be ineffective.
About Me: Aloha! My name is Jeremy S., I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist for just over a year now. Although I still consider myself to be relatively new to the world of manual therapy, I’ve spent much of my life developing skills to bring joy to others through the efforts of my own hands. I’ve done this as an artist, musician, and a cook. However, the isolation of the recent pandemic helped me realize the value and profound healing power of touch, inspiring me to pursue work as a massage therapist. I first received my education in New Jersey and have since continued and enjoyed learning everything. I can improve my skills through further education, and through each unique experience I have with my clients.
What Massage Means To Me: What I love most about massage is providing the opportunity for rest to those who may struggle to find time for it, to acknowledge and tend compassionately to those who may suffer silently, and to bring a healing touch to those who may experience very little of it. The benefits of massage are as profound as they are wide ranging, and I look forward to sharing them with every client I see.
