Mahalo nui loa to everyone that helped make May a great month for the spa! Our Memorial Day sale was a great success, and I appreciate everyone who decided to take advantage of the exceptional savings. Just like May, June also contains an important holiday: Father’s Day! Make sure that you go ahead and book your appointments well in advance, because we will be busy!

We have been hard at work continuing to renovate the Scottsdale spa. We are focused on making incremental and steady progress. During May we installed about a third of the bamboo that we will ultimately be meticulously placing throughout the spa. You will notice the lobby of the spa changing dramatically; it will look more basic before it is improved, but ultimately it will be a lot better. Over the next month, we will be installing new lighting in the lounge, replacing all our scraped or damaged ceiling tiles, starting our bathroom remodel (its hard to say how long it will take – doesn’t everything seem to take longer than expected?), and replacing the shower doors (the steam room vestibule will also ultimately be removed – and the ceiling of the small shower will be tiled).

Scottsdale is now being led under the expert leadership of Meg. If you have not met her yet, make sure you say hi the next time you stop in. She is at the spa on all of the busiest days to ensure that everything is operating as smoothly as possible.

We also added a couple of new massage therapy positions last month, to try to better serve the LMT community. We are committed to providing the best professional work environment in the industry. We now offer positions for all types of professional massage therapists, be it the independent contractor or the highly committed full time employee who needs guaranteed income, so that we can ultimately better serve our guests.

On a similar note, I will personally be working one full day a week in each spa to help us stay focused on our goal of providing the best professional work environment, and providing the best service in the industry.
