There is also a slang variation you may hear in Hawaii – “onolicious” which combines ono and delicious. The word “ono,”without the ‘okina in the beginning, refers to a type of fish known also as a mackerel. Perhaps the next time you visit Hawaii you will have some ‘ono ono!
