Fun Fact
Fun Fact: Speaking of waves, some of the largest waves in the world can be seen at Pe’ahi Beach (aka Jaws) on Maui. Waves up to 70′ high have been recorded at this beach. But don’t bother driving up the dirt road to see these waves as Pe’ahi only “goes off” a few times per year – the rest of the year it is calm with almost no waves. But when conditions are just right, massive waves moving at high speed pound the coast and create amazing surfing conditions for highly skilled surfers.
