Steve Ibach is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the state of Arizona and is nationally certified in therapeutic massage (NTCM).  He specializes in medical massage therapy and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage.  Steve has advanced training in a variety of massage modalities including neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, sports massage, pregnancy massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, among others.  Steve has taught massage at a Scottsdale massage school and has trained many massage therapists in the art of Lomi Lomi massage and other advanced techniques. In addition the above massage training Steve has studied kinesiology at Arizona State University and is a Fitness Consultant.  He is publisher of The Massage Advancer, an online news source about massage therapy. 

In a medical or advanced therapeutic massage session, Steve will incorporate all of his training and experience into a customized session focused on treating the client’s specific needs.  This will often include recommendations for home care including exercises, stretches, use of heat and ice, and much more.

Steve owns Hawaiian Experience Spa along with his wife Cathy (more about the owners).  Regardless of which therapist you see at the spa Steve is always working behind the scenes to ensure your visit exceeds all of your expectations.

Steve's Exotic Advanced Lomi Lomi Massage

Although everyone at the spa performs Lomi Lomi massages I have advanced training in the art and can perform the massage differently then what we normally provide at the spa. When I studied Lomi Lomi on Maui and brought the treatment to the spa I slightly modified our approach to the treatment to conform with the needs of most clients. While our regular Lomi Lomi massage is very traditional, my Lomi Lomi massage will include everything I have learned about this ancient practice from various sources and training.

In your special Lomi Lomi I will use deep pressure to release muscle tension (the massage will usually be deeper than a regular Lomi Lomi although I can adjust the pressure to suit your needs) with a special focus on breathing muscles and hip muscles. However, even though most of the massage is deeper, I will include a period of soft full body relaxing lomi strokes intermixed with the deeper work. This combination makes the deeper work more effective and will cause your entire body to relax and "let go". I will also incorporate stretching (especially of the hips and legs), and will kneel on the massage table to perform more of the massage than usual, including when you are face down and face up. I will play traditional Hawaiian music and will try to provide you with a fantastic overall experience during your treatment.

I recommend this massage for anyone who loves deep therapeutic pressure and is comfortable with the Lomi Lomi techniques. If this is your first Lomi Lomi you may wish to try a regular Lomi Lomi to make sure you are totally comfortable before moving on to this special massage. Aloha.
